| you are: Information systems of management
The effective information system should meet following basic requirements.
1. The information should be exact (in certain limits). Decision-making and drawing up of plans should be carried out on the basis of the available information, therefore its accuracy can make essential impact on results. For example, for proreading of reaction of customers on changes of the price, quality or a way of delivery of the goods it is important to know, why customers buy production. If the available information on behaviour of buyers says that they buy, proceeding from the price it is not necessary to make any changes to quality or ways of Delivery.
2. The information is useful only in that case when it is full as the partial information can be exposed to considerable deviations (especially when unusual circumstances) are possible and to lead to incorrect conclusions.
3. For the insurance from "information overflow" first of all it is necessary to form the necessary (relevant) information. The surplus information can "obscure" a case in point and or slow down decision-making process, or lead to errors in conclusions.
4. The information should be flowing. The out-of-date information can mislead, as, for example, the information of bills of profits and losses for last year. If to start with a price level or factors under expenses last year, probably to admit understating of the prices and profit decrease.
5. Process of gathering, storage, processing and information use should be favourable from the point of view of efficiency (recoupment) of expenses, it should yield the necessary results at the minimum expenses. Otherwise expenses for information gathering can appear inefficient.
6. The collected information should be significant (essential) in the sense that it potentially influences made decisions. The ineffective information, probably, is unsuitable and from the point of view of efficiency of expenses for it.
7. The information should be presented in a kind convenient for using. If the information is too difficult for evident representation in the convenient form, that, probably, the user cannot apprehend it, and it will not represent value.
